Finance Manager - 6 month FTC

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join our Tropical business unit on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a broad and varied role supporting a fast-paced business.

Reporting into the wider finance leadership team, you will take full ownership of the business unit's P&L and balance sheet, providing accurate financial reporting, commercial insight, and financial control across the operation.

This role offers significant exposure to both operational and commercial stakeholders and would suit someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the Tropical business unit P&L and balance sheet.
• Deliver weekly, monthly and month-end financial reporting and analysis.
• Provide performance reporting and insights to support business decision-making.
• Partner with commercial, procurement and operational teams to drive business performance.
• Manage stock accounting, stock controls and stock count processes.
• Support supplier invoice management and financial governance.
• Provide financial support on short-term commercial deals and pricing activity.
• Maintain effective financial controls across third-party packing operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements within the business.

We're looking for a resilient and commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and building relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

What We're Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience managing a full P&L and balance sheet.
• Experience within a product-based business involving physical stock and inventory accounting.
• Strong management accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
• Demonstrable business partnering experience with operational and commercial teams.
• A proactive, curious and self-starting approach.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The resilience and confidence to challenge where appropriate and navigate demanding stakeholder environments.

Desirable Experience

• Food, fresh produce or FMCG sector experience.
• Experience working with third-party manufacturing or packing operations.
• Exposure to operational change, business transformation or transition projects.
• Advanced stock management and inventory control experience.
