Quality Controller - Day Shift

We are recruiting for a Quality Controller at our Alconbury Weald site (PE28 4WY). This permanent, weekly-paid role offers reliable hours, consistent work and opportunities to develop your skills within a large global fresh produce business.

• Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 07:00–19:00
• Hourly Rate: £13.70, paid weekly – starting salary with clear progression within the role

As a Quality Controller, you will help ensure our fresh produce meets the standards our customers expect. Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting incoming raw materials and recording your findings accurately.
• Checking products against customer specifications.
• Reporting serious quality concerns promptly to managers.
• Preparing inspection reports for our Procurement team.
• Completing paper and tablet-based records, meeting targets for accuracy, compliance and productivity.

We are looking for people who want to build a long-term career with AMFRESH, with opportunities to develop their knowledge and take on further responsibilities.

You will take pride in maintaining high standards, spot details others might miss and be confident raising concerns. Previous experience in a food quality role is helpful but not essential.

We are looking for:

• Strong attention to detail and an accurate approach to record keeping.
• The ability to organise your workload and complete tasks independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Word.

At AMFRESH, we offer benefits to support you at work and at home:

• FRESHSavings: Savings on food, drink, shopping and more.
• FRESHHealth: 24/7 GP access for you and your family, plus cashback on health and wellbeing appointments.
• FRESHLiving: Gym discounts and savings on holidays and travel.
• FRESHSupport: Confidential wellbeing support and access to our on-site Occupational Health team.

We recognise colleagues who demonstrate our values and make a positive contribution. We also offer courses and development opportunities to help you build your skills and grow with us.

• • Opening in 2023 after the success of our Peterborough site, Alconbury Weald is already at the heart of the UK’s fresh produce supply chain. Every day, we sort, process, pack and deliver fresh, healthy produce to the UK’s leading supermarkets, so there’s a good chance the citrus, grapes and melons you buy have passed through our site.

AMFRESH is growing fast, and so are the opportunities. With over 800 colleagues from more than 50 countries, we’re powered by diverse talent and bold ambition. We put people first, investing in training, progression and long-term careers, and helping everyone reach their full potential.
