We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Tax - UK to lead all direct and indirect tax matters across AMFRESH’s UK operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations, optimising the Group’s tax position, and maintaining a transparent and constructive relationship with HMRC.
You will act as the principal tax advisor to the UK leadership team while working closely with the Group Tax Function to ensure alignment with global tax policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance
Oversee UK corporate tax compliance, including the preparation, review, and submission of corporation tax returns, capital allowances, and RDEC claims (supported by external advisors).
Ensure compliance across VAT, PAYE, Patent Box, withholding taxes, DTTP Passport scheme, CT61, and other UK tax obligations.
Manage HMRC enquiries, audits, and risk reviews with accuracy and professionalism.
Maintain and enhance tax processes in line with UK legislation and HMRC guidance.
HMRC Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for HMRC, fostering a transparent and proactive relationship.
Lead interactions including Business Risk Reviews (BRR+), information requests, and disclosures where appropriate.
Tax Planning & Advisory
Partner with the Group Head of Tax to develop and implement UK tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
Provide expert advice on restructurings, investments, supply chain changes, global mobility, and M&A activity.
Monitor changes in UK tax legislation and assess business impact.
Manage UK Pillar 2 compliance and global minimum tax considerations.
Assess and mitigate permanent establishment (PE) risks.
Transfer Pricing
Maintain robust UK transfer pricing documentation in line with OECD and UK requirements.
Ensure consistent application of Group transfer pricing policies.
Support audits and economic analyses.
Tax Risk & Governance
Identify and manage UK tax risks across the business.
Implement internal controls in line with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) regime.
Support global tax risk reviews and policy alignment.
Tax Technology & Reporting
Lead implementation of tax technology and digital compliance tools (e.g., MTD for VAT).
Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, including forecasts and year-end reporting.
