About The Role
We’re recruiting a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at AMK Fresh, based at our Peterborough site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a truly multi-skilled engineer to play a key role in our night-shift operation, working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern within a fast-paced, high-performing food manufacturing environment.

Our Peterborough facility opened in 2020 and continues to benefit from ongoing investment—from new production line installations to continuous upgrades of existing machinery. You’ll be working with modern, well-maintained equipment and have genuine exposure to new technology as the site evolves.

We actively invest in our Engineers, supporting the development of technical expertise and encouraging continuous improvement across the Engineering function. This role offers the chance to broaden your skill set, deepen your knowledge, and make a visible impact on site performance.

You’ll bring hands-on experience working with a range of production equipment, including conveyors, heat sealers, netting and flow-wrapping machines, as well as coding and labelling systems.

Working closely with our Production teams, you’ll share technical knowledge, collaborate on problem-solving, and help drive improvements in machine efficiency. By supporting and developing Machine Operators, you’ll play a key role in reducing downtime and improving line performance across the night shift.
About You
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a high volume, fast moving environment
- Formal Electrical qualifications in Engineering, i.e NVQ Level 3, Engineering Apprentice or Food and Drink Apprenticeship Standard
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude and outlook to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of driving continuous improvement activities
- Experience in maintaining standard industry machinery including conveyor belt systems, bucket fillers and strapping machines.
