About The Role

We have an exciting vacancy in our fruit business for an individual who is prepared to work hard, can cope under pressure, and has the potential skills and desire to progress a career in fresh produce procurement. This is a great opportunity to work within a highly specialized citrus procurement function supporting the commercial teams day to day and working closely with the wider business departments. You will be based at our purpose build facility in Alconbury. 
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
  • Update stocks and customer orders forecasts and communicate any challenges to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor loaded vs ordered quantities and communicate differences
  • Interface with planning, quality and commercial teams to ensure all queries are dealt with
  • Liaise with suppliers and distribution partners to support your procurement colleagues
  • Manage systems to ensure information is accurate to ensure our planning, operational and commercial teams can operate effectively within agreed processes and procedures
  • Zero price reporting and updating price data
  • Attend daily operational and planning meetings
  •  Prepare & send weekly orders to growers
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships
  • Maintain data input to report procurement KPIs
  • Customer cost price file maintenance
  • Update and maintain master supplier data list fields that the procurement function are responsible for

About You

What do you need? 
  • Experience in a procurement or planning role within Fresh Produce / Food Production / FMCG environment.
  • Understanding of fresh produce supply chain.
  • IT Literate – High level of IT literacy with extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Rubicon experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Sound planning skills to ensure maximum utilisation of product whilst maximising order fulfilment to customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with own initiative.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Logical and process driven.
  • Hard working and efficient.
